BIO
I have grown up surrounded by history. From living in the haunted streets of Edinburgh to the crumbling castles of the highlands. It is the rich history such as this that has inspired my artwork.
It is the atmosphere and historical relevance of these places that has had such a major effect on me and ultimately what has inspired my work the most, especially the fables and stories coming from these places. I grew up hearing stories about the Ghillie Dubh and Seelies that would dwell under hills. By piecing these mythological and usually macabre stories with mediums such as paint and pen I have discovered that I can in a way transport individuals into the mindset of these stories through visuals.
I gain much of my inspiration from literature, and only begin on a piece once I have found something I cannot help becoming inspired by. Inspiration varies from classical literature and poetry to ancient myths and even modern day movies.

STATEMENT & RESUME
Kit Cameron-Warton, though born in Oregon state, grew up for the most part outside of the country. Spending many years in places such as Africa, Scotland, Portugal, and CostaRica. She is currently obtaining an AFA degree through Shoreline Community college and is in her final quarter of the AFA program. Caitlin was first introduced to art through the visiting of the Scottish National Gallery in the year 2007 and was enthralled by all of the classical paintings and sculptures. After that trip she began to practice and develop her artistic skills through pencil and pastel work, apprenticing under hobby artist Jennifer Macintosh. She has since moved on to work in both oil and watercolour paints as well as mixed media sculpture.
